on the "Turtle Lady"

Hi Everyone!

Already weeks into 2010---hope it is proving to be a good year so far for everyone. I know my family and I certainly enjoyed the holiday season. Road trips, parties, friend and family time--I just love the crazy, chaotic coziness that the holidays bring with them.

The upcoming months will be defined by running back and forth to the islands, which are always inspiring. As gray as winter days can be, even in Florida sometimes, the islands are always bursting with color, and it is inspiring and fun! I am working on several new pieces, and trying some new things, both in technique and in subject matter, which combined with attending some local workshops, keeps me on my artistic toes.

I have a new turtle painting completed. Please take a moment to have a look at a piece I call "Heads Up". It's a composition rooted in a day spent on the water in the Bahamas, where we encountered several little Green Turtles just enjoying the water like we were. When they get startled, they are like rocket powered Frisbees, but just a chance encounter with them makes for a memorable day. I hope the piece touches you in some way.

I have added a few new outlets for my work, am either attending or participating in a show here and there, and just keep working away at my paintings, projects and keeping all the proverbial balls in the air that life keeps tossing my way.
